Lessons are offered at the Heather Meadows base lodge on weekends and holidays; midweek and non-holidays, go to the White Salmon Day Lodge.

Group lessons: Ski and snowboard lessons start daily at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and cost $22 per person, ages 7 and older. Two-hour terrain park sessions for skiers and snowboarders cost $25 and are available on weekends and holidays only, ages 10 and older.

First-timer package: A 90-minute lesson, beginner lift ticket and equipment costs $45 for skiers and snowboarders ages 7 and up.

Private lessons: $55 for 90 minutes.

Special programs: Mt. Baker's clinics focus on women and adaptive skiers. Beginner telemark lessons are given on Sundays. Inquire about monthly telemark clinics with some of the best telemark instructors in the Pacific Northwest.
